Russian Language Course for Beginners
The updated version of the online course ‘Time to Speak Russian!’ consists of a course on phonetics (“Букварь”), an A1 course ‘Suitcase’ (“Чемодан”), an A2 course ‘Moscow Holiday’ (“Московские каникулы”), and a grammar guide. The courses of level A1 and A2 are linked by one storyline, which is told through plasticine characters in a series of stop motion videos. The storyline is built around authentic, real world situations and communications. The online course ‘Time to Speak Russian’ can be used in group settings or individual lessons with learners of all ages. The knowledge-testing questions and quizzes make this course equally suitable for solo learning or with a teacher, and subtitles in 16 different languages make the course accessible to many. The course consists of lessons whose order is deeply thought through. Going in lesson order allows a learner to build up their Russian vocabulary while gradually increasing their knowledge of grammatical concepts.
Study materials are available online and also in PDF. PDFs can be downloaded as a basic (free) and as an advanced (paid) versions.
The A1 course called ’Suitcase’ includes 15 lessons. Every lesson contains video clips and exercises, grammar guides, dictionary entries, and end of section tests...
The A2 course ‘Moscow Holidays’ is composed of 8 lessons. Every lesson contains video clips and exercises, grammar guides, dictionary entries, and end of section tests.
The grammar reference guide can be used as a standalone reference for learning Russian. (The grammar is at the A2 level.)
The phonetics course 'Букварь' introduces foreign speakers to the letters and sounds of the Russian language, and also explains the basic phonetic rules in a clear and concise way.
